Apple have approved our Poriot for iOS 1.6 update yesterday which corrects the dates for the last three episodes in the season.
There was a discrepancy between what IMDb stated and the UK Release Dates, with IMDb stating the earliest release date. Turns out that Poland saw The Big Four nearly three weeks before viewers in the UK.
In addition I’ve added a fix to make browsing inside the app more reliable. As always, enjoy!
The Labours of Hercules – now on iTunes
As of this morning you can watch the latest episode in the saga on iTunes UK, only a couple of days after the UK air date. We’re very much looking forward to this, having enjoyed The Big Four and Mark Gatiss’ adaptation of the script only last week. See details in the ITV Press Release.
I’ve been working on adding iCloud to the app over the last week, and it all goes well the update should hit the App Store before the final instalment of Curtain: Poirot’s Last Case on the 13th of November.
The final air dates are here, and it’s time to make them available to all Poirot for iOS users. And as of this morning, the latest version of your favourite Poirot App is available on the App Store.
According to the Agatha Christie Newsletter there will be a special edition of Curtain featuring David Suchet as an ageing Poirot on the cover (see above). This tie-in is to be released by Harper Collins on the 7th of November. You can find more details here.
As of yet, we haven’t changed the interface of our app to utilise the new iOS 7 look and feel. It was very important to me to add all information before we effectively cut off users with older devices which cannot run iOS 7. Lucky for us all, this current version 1.5 will still run happily on iOS 5+6 and will always be available from the App Store, even if newer versions will require iOS 7 and later.
Enjoy the final three instalments of Poirot! You can get a season pass for Collection 9 from the iTunes UK Store.
Great news: Apple have just approved our latest update for Poirot. This version contains some great new features, and of course all the new episodes of the final season:
Seek and Ye Shall Find: brand new search feature lets you find stories quickly
added 5 new TV Episodes for Poirot’s final season
updated iTunes Collection cover images
added publication and air dates to main list views (they were previously only showing in detail views)
The timing couldn’t be better as the first episode of the new season “Elephants Can Remember” has just aired on ITV. It’s also available in the UK iTunes store.
As the team are wrapping up their final days of shooting at the glorious Greenway Estate in Devon the production is coming to a close – and I bet all fans are sorry to hear this. They’ve already shot the final episode (Curtain) and we know an air date in January 2014 already (which is included in this update), but all three remaining episodes don’t have date set yet.
Rest assured that as soon as they becomes available we’ll update the app again.
PS: David Suchet said on his Twitter account that he’s working on two other Poirot related projects: a documentary and a book called “Being Poirot”.
